The purpose of this film is to wake up folks to the precarious nature of society’s modern grid, and to motivate all of us to take direct action to reduce our dependency on the modern system. Your support is needed to help complete this important documentary.

We have set a goal of completing and releasing the film by the start of fall, September 21st.

Here’s a brief overview of where we’re at and what still needs to be accomplished to complete the film, with the associated costs that funding will go towards.

Northwest US Film Tour – our filming trip to the Northwest US included the filming of YouTube star Wranglerstar and permaculture expert Paul Wheaton. It cost about $4000 total. You can see updates on what came out of our Northwest Filming Tour here.
Southern US Film Tour – we took a trip to Tennessee and Alabama in September last year, which provided crucial footage from some key experts – historian and speaker Geoff Botkin, farmer/homesteader Noah Sanders, and finance expert and farmer Franklin Sanders. This trip cost about $6000.
Post-production editing – Principle editing, sound editing, and final editing all need to be accomplished. We need to hire technical staff in order to complete of the film and this will cost in the neighborhood of $30,000.
Promotion and fundraising – Marketing activities associated with increasing awareness of the film, fundraising, and building our audience are all necessary to ensure both adequate funding of other parts of the project, as well as to prepare the ground for a successful film release. These activities will amount to around $10,000 for the production phase of the project.

Due to the urgency of completing this project to inform and inspire the people to take action, we need your help with the following essential tasks:
